Re: Home Brew

Have built two so far here. One a sony p32 setup with a pixcontroller le board, ran me about $150 for everything for that one, and the second one a bit nicer setup with a universal board and a p41 ran me about $240.

How much you spend will depend on what you want to build and whether or not you can find a camera for a reasonable price, and what tools you may or may not already have and need. Pixcontroller has a good tutorial on building cams. Might also check out jessehunting forums, there is a wealth of knowledge there.

There are several cams out there that can be modified.

Re: Home Brew

The Pixcontroller link I sent you in the PM should give you all the info you need. You also can buy the Pix Universal kit which gives you everything you need except the Case and Camera. But I think you can get a case there too. I've built a few cameras now and prefer to make the Sony homebrews. Very Easy to do. Depending on how much you get the camera on ebay for. Either the Sony P32 or P41 will make a great camera. I have both. They are both just about the same to make. Except for 1 wire which is flip flopped on the 2 units. wtnhunt's prices are accurate. Plus the main benefits are a better camera for less money. My homebrews range is double that of my Leaf River camera and Non Typical camera and I don't get too many missed shots either. Good luck.
