Pins on sights?

Got a question. I have a TruGlo Brite Sight which came with 3 pins (red, green, yellow). I'd like to have a 4th pin without buying a whole new sight..is it possible to add a 4th pin to my sight without any problems? I might be able to pick up a brand new Truglo Tritium pin for a really good price (almost less than half of what it is in Cabela's). Or am I better off selling my sight and getting one with 4 or 5 pins already? If I can put a 4th pin on, then I'll stick with this sight for the year.

Re: Pins on sights?

Ok. What about when it comes time for sighting in my pins and having to move them up or down - will there be enough room? If I have 4 pins, I'll probably do one at 40 yards, at least for 3D. Also, being that there are two slots for the pins to go in, what slot would I put the say 40 yard pin in -slot closest to me or one away?

Re: Pins on sights?

just go and ask the person you got it from if they have any extra pins for it. i wanted a couple more for my sight and asked the man i bought it from at Scheels and he opened one of the other sights and gave them too me. he said he could have ordered them for me too if i wanted more.

Re: Pins on sights?

Put your first pin in the slot closest to you when holding the bow, then stagger your pins on down. Depending on how fast your bow is shooting will determine if you've got enough room for all the pins. Most sights come with plenty of travel in them now and it shouldn't really be a problem. Also, start your first pin as close to the center of the sight as you can, after setting the yardage on the other pins you might have to move it up. Having the pins towards the middle of your sight cage gives you a better view through your sights.
