Guest bruteshooter
My manufacturer (PSE) recommends at least six grains of arrow weight per pound of draw weight. So if I'm shooting 60# bow, then I need to have an arrow of at least 360 grains. Sound right? Other manufactures the same or drastically different? hutchies
Re: Arrow Weight vs. Draw Weight Yes..........That is correct. Most manufactures recommend 5 grains per pound except High Country.

Guest davidmil
Re: Arrow Weight vs. Draw Weight The higher you keep that number the less wear and tear on the bow and it's parts. The bow will be quieter and critters die deader. I keep mine around 6.5, 70 pounds, 455 grain arrows.
steve01101
Correct arrows The higher you keep that number the less wear and tear on the bow and it's parts. I keep mine around 6.5, 70 pounds, 455 grain arrows. kinetic energy = critters die deader using a kinetic energy calculator is the best way to figure out the best weight arrow for your bow. | Easton Archery and dont forget proper spine, scroll to the bottom for a useful chart, | Easton Archery, hope this helps you all
dbHunterNY
Where do you get 6 grains per pound? Should say right in your PSE owner's manual under "General Operating Instructions"... "Always use an arrow that is at least 5 grains per pound of peak bow weight. Failure to do so could cause personal injury and damage to your bow." I agree most manufacturers also recommend 5 grains per lb of peak weight.
