Guest gowandasuper
Is anyone here using these. I just picked one up with 5 extra receivers and can't wait to use it this fall. They look and feel awesome! I'm probably going to get one more and 10 additional receivers before hunting season. Planning on lessening the stolen stand syndrome that has plagued me for years. 6 stands stolen in 9 years is 6 too many for me, got really tired of it after the one that went missing this fall. What are your thoughts and experiences both good and bad. Thanks, Dale
Guest davidmil
Re: Millenium Treestands My hunting buddy has one and loves it. I think it's just a bit bulky and really a lot expensive for a hang on. I can't justify spending that much for a hang on. I sit in one every day that I go to his shop... it's comfy, but too expensive for my way of thinking.
Turkeygirl
Re: Millenium Treestands Have not heard of them. And welcome to Realtree! I go up to Springville all the time (to shop with my mom, lol) We live about 45 minutes southeast of there. Do some steelhead fishing there also. ruttinbuc
Re: Millenium Treestands I saw these stands at a show and I agree that the stand is a bit bulky. Way long, but for the benefit of the seat it comes with. 38" inches long has it at the back of your knees carrying it in. It also looks like you would stick out like a sore thumb. The seat is comfortable and the receivers are a good idea. However, I find the stand to be way pricey when you include all the extra receivers you might need. It comes down to personal preference I guess. If you like it and it works for you, who is to argue? For my personal likes I would want something that is smaller and easier to carry. Good hunting! rebelyelp
Re: Millenium Treestands quite possibly the most comfortable stand out there... the cost of the stand itself is offset by the way it works... you can buy multiple blocks(recievers) and hang them in different areas with a set of sticks, then move the stand from reciever to receiver depending on your setup... not to mention, the stand is light, so moving it isn't an issue.... Guest gowandasuper
Re: Millenium Treestands Turkey Girl, thanks for the welcome. I just moved to Springville last winter for my job from the Syracuse area. I was raised here in Erie Co. though in Akron, so this was coming home so to speak after being in the 'cuse for 13 years. Nice to be back to the area. My thinking with these stands is that I will add another stand to the one I have and have a total of 20 receivers. I want to sell alll my other misc. stands including 7 loc ons, 2 loggy bayou cheap seats and 3 other stands that I can't remember their name.. I will keep my 5 Gorilla Stands and 4 APIs and my Api climber. That should give me plenty of options. I have just become so disenchanted with stolen stands and these stands are so comfortable and well built , seem relatively easy to pack in and out and light too, that the cost of which we were able to pick them up for at the show (4) of us bought 4 stands, 5 20' climbing sticks and 14 receivers that they sold us the stands for a really good price. I think with tax it ended up being $180 a piece and free shipping. My climber alone ways 18# and these are only 14#, plus they seem less likely to be as cumbersome as the climber. TravisM
Re: Millenium Treestands A few years ago, I saw the Millenium and the Chippewa Wedge Lock stands and they both have the same premise. You can put the chain (for wedge lock) or the block (for millenium) up in the tree and leave it there all season if you want. Then you just backpack your stand in with you when you want to hunt. I eventually decided on the Wedge Lock because the Millenium was just to bulky. I will say the Millenium was much more comfortable than the Wedge Lock, but I've been really happy with my choice. I'm sure you'll enjoy your Millenium, happy hunting.
NYBUCK
Re: Millenium Treestands You guys and gals be nice to Dale. I met Dale down in Harrisburg when we went to the show through a mutual friend. He is and outstanding guy and looking forward to many more get-togethers. I too bought one of the millenium stands, in fact all 4 of us bought one. They are a little pricey but the concept is great and should be cheaper in the long run with the multiple recievers. Dale is bringing mine to me next week when he comes out to visit. We are also going to the Whitetail Classic in Lake George. Should be a great week-end. Rhino
Re: Millenium Treestands I've got 3 of the hang on stands and 1 of their 20' ladder stands. I'm planning on getting 2 or 3 more of their ladder stands before the fall. They are by far the most comfortable stands that I've ever hunted out of. They are also easier to hang in a tree too. The only negative thing I can say is the platform is too slick with wet or muddy feet or when there is frost on them. I solved that problem but putting a neophrene camo tape on the slats that is designed to eliminate slipping and also helps keep your feet warmer than just being on cold metal. Guest gowandasuper
Re: Millenium Treestands I was planning on putting some skateboard grip tape on the platform as well. even with the ridges designed into the x members, they look like they could be slippery at times to me as well. Rhino
Re: Millenium Treestands gowandasuper....here's a link the the slip resistant tape I used. It's been on my Millenium stands for 2 years now. http://www.deerhuntinggear.net/camo_tape.htm Summit also makes something similar to it but their product has gotten some bad reviews with problems about their tape not sticking. Guest dedicatedmarine
Re: Millenium Treestands I use the lonewolf climber. I tried several other stands, but this one's the quietest, lightest, and has the best features. there's a holder for your bow casted right into the frame, there's hooks to wrap up your string for your bow, it collapses to 3 inches on your back. there's no pins/chains/hollow tubing that'll make sound.
