Re: new Bowtechs

My friend owns one of the better archery shops on the East Coast. I get to play a lot. A couple weeks ago on a Sunday we set up 6 bows to the same specifications. We set them all at the same poundage, draw length etc. The bows we played with for 2 days were the Bowtech Commander, BowTech Guardian, Darton Maverick, Hoyt Vectrix XL, Mathews Switchback and the Trycon. Since then, the 3 of us that did the playing got to add the Mathews Drenilin to our test bows using the same criteria. The owner wore himself out changing modules and poundage for us so we could play. We ran them all through the chrony for speed with two different weight arrows. We all gave a score for feel, shock, steady hold, noise, speed etc. Our test arrows were 400 and 450 grain. We're all hunters. The concenses was, BowTech has a couple winners for sure. Their specs for speed are about right, they're dead quiet out of the box with nothing added and shoot like crazy. "OUR" top 3 bows were... The Guardian # 1, Hoyt LX 2, Commander 3. After shooting the Drenelin we still all feel the top three are right. Any of those bows will make your day. The Drenelin by the way was a 2 week old bow. The guy that bought it brought it to my friend shop to tune it and set it up. Seems the shop where he bought it screwed it up. To start with, they sold him a 29 inch draw bow and he's legitimately a 31. While my friend was working on the bow he said, here...shoot the commander. The guy shot it one time and declared, 'I screwed up". I know, what was he thinking when he purchased a bow obviously too short. When my guy pointed it out to him(he knew the guy for years) the guy called the Mathews dealer and wondered why he sold him a bow that only went to 29 inches. Long story short, he sold the bow at big loss to my shop owner and walked out the door with a new Commander. The Mathews is now a demo for comparison at my freinds shop. OH, by the way, I ordered the Guardian after shooting it for 2 days without reservation. Now the long wait begins. They are back logged folks so if you see one and want it don't hesitate. I suspect I'm looking at weeks as my buddy has 16 or 17 sold and backordered. He has another 25 on order for stock.

I shot the Guardian for about 45 minutes and fell in love. It was in a league of its own. I also shot the Ross 334, Bear Truth, Hoyt Vectrix, and Martin Pantera. All of these bows are nice but the Guardian was something special!!!

My proshop still hasn't gotten anymore in. He got two Commanders and a Guardian to begin with and that's it. They're really slow with the delivery of these things. Bummer.

Re: new Bowtechs

im from upstate newyork and i shoot at a mathews shop , a bowtech shop and parker , hoyt shop. i now shoot a new alligience! people get so blinded by the brand of bow they dont look for the best product out there. my 3-d score went up ten points just by changing from a xt to a new bowtech that said it all now i average in the 290's. the #1 bowtech dealer in ny is archery solutions in williamson they have already sold 39 guardians this year and have sold more bowtechs then anyone on the east coast and have put two bowshops out of business just by only selling bowtechs! try every bow out there they are all good but they are not the best!. if a better bow comes out next year i will shoot it and will brag if its a mathews or hoyt or whatever!!

Re: new Bowtechs

I ordered a Guardian in 40-50# with 26 1/2 inch draw...I can' wait for it to get here! My other bow is a Hoyt Selena...but I wanted something quieter & faster...it's hard to find a bow with available lengths & weights for a girl! I already got my Sword sights, WildThing stabilizer, and drop away rest to set it up...can't wait!! Should be here in a week or so!

I've never shot a Bowtech, but the more I see pics of those Guardians, the more they are growing on me.....I used to think they were butugly, but they get better looking everytime I see one.....and their stats sure speak for themselves......another great bow.

Re: new Bowtechs

My Guardian is here!!! I love it. Just got here Thursday, after a four week wait. I got it in Hardwoods HD Grey, and it looks awesome. Very smooth draw, no hand shock, and extremely quiet. I could not be happier with it! Shot 125 arrows yesterday, some today, and going again tomorrow (I don't want to put it down). It is not the lightest bow on the market, but not too heavy...but it is extremely fast! Mine shot 297 at the factory, set at only 50 lbs-amazing! I will post pics in the next couple days.

Re: new Bowtechs

I've shot a demo Guardian also and I agree it is simply awesome to shoot. I have an '05 Bowtech Liberty and it is very tempting to upgrade. My local dealer is waiting for over 100 Bowtechs that he has orders for from customers. That's a little scary.
