College stinks

Just when I thought that I had my college narrowed down to two, another coach (soccer) calls and wants me to come play for them. I swear every time I narrow it down another school offers either a roster spot, or a try-out. I didn't realize how stressful it was picking the college that you think is the best fit for you until I actually had to do it, and man is it tough. I swear I'm about to throw the names in a hat and whatever one comes out is where Im going.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to make this an easier choice?

Re: College stinks

I have only visited on of the three, the other two offers came very recently so I haven't had time to visit yet, but that is in the near future. And no, I'm still undecided on my major as of right now, but Im leading towards either atheltic training, or education.

Enlist in the Marine Corp, do a couple of tours in the Middle East, then come back and choose. It'll be a piece of cake then! grin.gif

In other words, just try to keep everything in perspective. See if you can talk to some students who've been at the university for a couple of years. Find out if they're happy with their choice.

i went with the school that was offering the best scholarship, worth the most in the real world. i ended up at a private naia instead of an ncaa school. the degree would be worth more, but this school doesn't offer a wildlife biology degree, most of the biology courses are directed at pre-med, so i still have to go to a public school after i grad here and finish up. overall, i'd go where you can get the best education, after those 4 or 5 years are up, you'll wish you had done what will benefit you most in the long run.

Re: College stinks

That is what I did bucknutt. I was a day away from signing with Bradly in IL. Then the coach called and asked me to come for a visit before I sign. Like he said I could be a little fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond. At Bradly at the time they were not NCAA material. I had just won the NJCAA National Champoionship and was really wanting to go to a school that could got to the National Tourn. again. I didnt care at what level.

Re: College stinks

I picked my school on the basis that I could play hockey, my relatives were close and my major. I found out that this place isint the best for my major so I have to give up hockey to pursue the best option for after college. Im transferring to the University of Pittsburgh for two reasons, 1) I like the campus, 2) they have a very good business program which my current school does not.

You have a tough decision ahead of you. You need to think about what is going to help you the most in the long run. Because you may only play competitive soccer for 4 more years. Unless you go pro. Which in that case it wouldnt matter cause that would be awesome and you would get paid well. If not tho, you will need to find a job thay pays well enough to support you and your family. Best of Luck with your decision!

Personally, I'd be stressed out if there weren't any asking me and I couldn't get in one. Sounds like you should be basking in the sunshine, making a careful decision and finding one that has timber nearby.
