AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video You can get those bobber lights at Gander Mountain too for around $2.50 and it different colors. I seen red and green last time I was there. This is probably the simplest way to make them.

hutchies
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video Gander Mountain has the Thill and Beacon lights. I used the Beacon cause they were brighter but I have to tell you guys this was super easy to do and took me all of 10 minutes to do 3 nocks and they look great. You don't actually have to even drill them. They still light up you just don't see them as bright from the back.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video hey hutchies..did you use the glue to hold the lights in the nock, like the guy in the video?? my method was a little different but if the glue thing works it'll be a little easier. if so, what kind of glue do you use?? Video explains it all and they work as good (in fact better) than the Factory Name Brands I paid close to $10 a piece for and have to wiggle to make them go on or off. nutz4bucks
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video I used the thill lights but had to wiggle them too.. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video I have had both and I find myself having more trouble with the production made ones. I think the little tabs that make contact can be improve. If you don't get good contact it would work. Plus with cabin fever its a nice project to work on! Good luck to those that make them! AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video I seen it on another site and said, the boys and girls at Realtree have got to see this. We talked about it in the past but seeing it is much easier than reading how to do it. That is what we are all here for, to help each other! slughunter
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video Thanks for sharing that lou, I might have to give that a try in the future, it will save me from loosing so many arrows, lol -shane
VTbowman
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video I have been interested in hi viz arrows for years. Thats why I use reflective tape for wraps and neon vanes. I hate to loose an arrow. I tried the Lumenoks once and they were crap IMHO. Could not get them to light 1/2 the time nor even to stay in the shaft upon impact. I sent them back for a full refund so I will not bash the company. I just feel they were poorly designed. I was interested in the Tracer brand but hear they are way heavy. This looks like something I may have to try this summer. Anyone weight a a completed home brew lighted nock yet? Griz
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video Cool video Lou... I have been wanting to try these for a good while. But I have always heard alot of down sides about them. I think I'm going to try these... Thanks...
Dukey
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video I got BEMANS hit max-4's with the X-noks which are smaller in Diameter than other noks, i had a heck of a time getting the light to fit in them. Probably because I am stuck at college and am making due with crap tools, but I am going to give them another go this summer. If you can get them to hold they will work better than Lumenoks. Leo
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video Please read! Making one of these nocks wrong could get you hurt! Be very careful if you are drilling nocks to assemble these. The nock is your only connection between arrow and bowstring. If the nock breaks after you release the arrow, it's as bad as a dry fire!!! I've only had one nock break on me in 20yrs. The experience is permanently etched in my mind. So trust me that's something you want to avoid. I was extremely lucky in that case but it did scare the heck out of me and gave me a good forearm raspberry. The raspberry was a mixed blessing, the bowstring catching my forearm probably provided enough resistance to protect the limbs. It took three weeks to heal (yeah it was bad). This video shows the guy drilling completely through the nock. Purposely weakening the nock where it needs to be strongest. That gave me shivers!!! It's simply NOT a good idea to weaken your nocks!!! hutchies
Re: Homemade Lighted Nock video If you use the Bohning nocks you don't have to drill them out. The only reason they do drill them is so the light is brighter out the back. However the nock will still light up even if you don't drill the hole.
