Your knives?

Hey ladies,

What knives do you own for hunting and outdoor related tasks? I have an older Buck Lite my mom got at a garage sale for $1 which I used alot until I got a Buck Whittaker Approach which I've used for hunting and also outdoor activities like camping/backpacking, etc... the blade broke on my Buck Whittaker, due to my sister, lol, so I'm in the search for a new Buck knife. I think the Buck Bantam series looks like what I want, small, good grip, and can do small game or deer. The Buck Alpha Series looks really nice to, just a little expensive. Oh yeah, and I have a Gerber Fillet knife that my outdoor rec. professor gave me when I graduated from college last May smile.gif

So what knives do you ladies have? Ladies with knives are cool, lol grin.gifwink.gif

Re: Your knives?

i got an old winchester locking blade that got at walmart, i love it....my gut knife is a gerber, it's folding....only used it a couple of times, but it held a edge real nice......i have one of those cleaning kits with 4-5 different knives and a bone saw that i keep in my truck....i think remington makes it, they dont hold a edge for very long, at least when cleaning hogs, but it has a sharpener included as well, so i'm good to go......and last of all and something no woman should be without , i have a gerber multi tool..... cool.gif try the sportsman guide for some real good deals on knives and other things...

Re: Your knives?

I would have thought that you ladies would have some Cutco knives.

You do know that make a skinning knife and a filet knife right? I own and use both of them and like their kitchen knives they hold their edge for a very long time.

Re: Your knives?

The Gerber with the gut hook is my field dressing knife. Then I have a Master , pocket knife, that if I don't have it on my person, I feel naked!! Bought the Master at the Daytona flea market for 5 bucks (new). It's one of the sturdest knives I've ever used. I have some real old kitchen knives that are great for proccessing. They will hold a wickedly sharp edge!!

Re: Your knives?

Okay I thought about it a bit. My favorite knife that I own would probably have to be my Kershaw 1620C Scallion Camo knife. It's a folding pocket knife with SpeedSafe technology. Reason I like it so much is it's a pocket knife that I can open with one hand. It has came in handy many times while trying to tie something and only having one hand to get into my pocket, get my knife out, open it, and use it. My mom got it as a gift it was in the bargain bin at Bass Pro for a really cheap price. I've fell in love with this knife and it is never far from my side.

Re: Your knives?

My husband bought me a Trail Guide antler handled knife for Christmas 2 years ago. The first time I carried it hunting HE shot a deer but had left his knife in the truck and asked to use mine to field dress his deer. Well, he broke the tip off it breaking the pelvic bone. I need to have it re-tipped or HE owes me a new knife. It still cuts great so I am not too mad.
