wtnhunt Posted February 28, 2007 Report Share Posted February 28, 2007 Posted about a month ago about my oldest daughter being recognized at the middle school as possibly being gifted. Well, we met yesterday afternoon at the middle school with my oldest daughters science teacher, the principal, and the special education coordinator. To make a long story short her IQ is not by any means at a genius level, but is well above average, and the recommendations were that she needed placement in the gifted program to help keep her challenged, so effective today, she is a gifted student in a new homeroom and with a different group of kids in her classes. He is in second grade and is reading at the level of a fourth grader who is at the end of the year. He is being tested now for various things. Good for her! Christina's ambition has been to be a veterinarian since she was pretty young, only thing is that she says she does not know if she can handle giving animals shots and doing anything to cause them pain. Far as the apple falling far from the tree, lol. Dont know about that, think she has far more potential than I ever had, although I was placed in advanced courses in jr high school.
