DU_man_84
Re: Crappie fishing need help crappie fishing has a lot of techniques, you can do your basic jig and minnow and jig if you can get on top of them in deeper water, minnow and bobber around tree stumps or cribs, or even weedlines set at proper depths, you can use the mini-mite jigs which have always been a producer no matter where you go, and also road runners with a little twister tail on it are a great presentation where you can cover alot of water on weed edges or around cribs

BowJoe
Re: Crappie fishing need help I can't think of anything I'd rather use than this little baby right here; http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.T...arTarget=browse You fish it like a bass lure only slower but enough to let the tail swim. I use the pearl with red tail and the minnow color. I buy at least 50 of these every year and that's all I use. I have caught hundreds of crappie every year fishing from the bank and won't even mess with live minnows that cost too much and die even quicker. I put these on a blood red 1/32 oz. jig head and cast anywhere I think they are lurking waiting to strike and then I just take it by them. When the hits are on, I very rarely cast without getting at least a bite. Then I just slow it down and they catch up and hit it. One other tip is to open the hook a little and you'll get less ripping on the lips with more actual fish getting snagged on those thin lips. I have ticked off more longtime fishermen by outfishing them in the exact same area that I was already in when they came up to see how I was catching so many. I give away more lures every year just to pass the word on how well they work. I bet I outfish live minnows and skirted jigs by 5 to 1. Not bragging, I just don't like to see people waste money and time on things that don't work as well. Just try a couple of packs of them since they are cheap and see what I mean. You'll be a believer in no time. By the way, I use the 1 1/2" for crappie and the 2 1/2" for bass or big crappie.

Guest OKbassin
Re: Crappie fishing need help Yellow grub worms are pretty much my favorite thing to use for crappie. i caught a 2 pound crappie on a yellow grub just last week. mini tubes are also a great choice. i like the green or the black and chartreuse.
