whitetailtrax
Hey everyone - wanted to take this opportunity to remind folks how important it is to have a carbon monoxide detector in your home. I was reminded of mine when it went off this morning just as the family was waking up for the day. Unfortunately, mine does not have a digital display and is run on batteries, so I didn't know for sure what was going on. Everyone was fine and so I called the power company and they came out almost immediately to check things out. Fortunately, it was not a CO issue, but rather a battery issue in our detector. The advice we got was to buy one that plugs into an outlet and has a digital reading on it - cost about $45. Not once did I feel embarrassed over this deal either - it's better to be safe than sorry (dead). Many thanks also to Northwestern Energy for coming out immediately to check things out.
