maddhunter
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 I got me and my son some new mouth calls from Hooks Calls, thinking about a new vest, and got an extra Doghouse blind for turkey only, it's the one without the floor, much lighter. Also got my son and my pot calls from bowhunter 56, and bought a Primos Freak Crystal call.
Adjam5
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 Good deal....we have secured the name Run N Gun. Hopefully it will be more gunning than running Joe and I are so looking forward to this years turkey season. I was up at our cabin in Sullivan the last few days hunting crows and coyote. 2 Crows and no yotes Crows are too dang smart this late in the season and the yotes...we all know how crafty they are. But anyway.... Our land and the surrounding land is covered in turkey tracks and alot of that "J" shaped poop! Thats good poop! I didn't see any birds or deer for that matter, but to be out on the top of a mountain breathing that cold air soaking up the scenery...ahhh...I don't have to tell you guys about that...you already know
woodsman2230
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 Anyone hearing any birds yet? I went out this morning and heard a few but they havent really started going at it yet.
maddhunter
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 They've startted strutting for the ladies around here. Turkeygirl
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 Wow, nice looking toms! No sign of turkeys anywhere on the farm land where I usually turkey hunter....population has gone down big time on it. Probably in April when things thaw out I'll start checking the state land and try and get an idea of the lay of the land and where turkeys are hanging... maddhunter
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 Well I'm glad we don't have any no-shows this time around. My team last year only had 3 of us that checked in. It's a very good thing that strut10 is letting late entries replace the no-shows. COME ON TURKEY SEASON !!!!!!!
woodsman2230
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 I agree. I think we have a great team this year. We should be in contention this year for sure.

I hope to have it all dialed in come turkey season, if not the Mossberg 835 will suffice. I've laid a few birds out with that gun. I totally can't wait til season!! We have something like 34 days til the youth hunt.

Turkeygirl
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 Ha ha, thanks for the vote maddhunter. I was going to say if no one else wants to be a leader, I can do it:-) Yeah, we need our own team signature...we could probably email one of the others who knows how to do them, like Buckee or I think VermonHunter does. Nick
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 Well I ended up getting a late hunt tag. So I'll be in the woods May 7-13. I dont know how much time I'll get to hunt since I started a new job, but I'll be there every opportunity I get.
Turkeygirl
Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 Well I may be able to do something I'd love to do this spring turkey season. The NWTF Women in the Outdoors Event is holding a hunt for women May 25-26 about 3 hours East of where I live. The lady who is heading it up is like director of the region for the NWTF and I met her last year at my first (and only) WITO event. anyway she told me about it last year and they are doing it again this year, I looked on the website. I think it was something like $150 or $200 to stay there, get food, and be guided on a turkey hunt. So I'm seriously considering doing it with my tax return money! It sure would be fun I think.
