Nick
Re: Country Music I dont really have one. I dont listen to country too much. But tonight I heard a song that reminds me of a situation I'm in. The verse I remember is " Thats my girl, but that aint my truck". The song starts out about a guy dating a girl that is dating another guy as well and she told them she would tell them on a certain night which one she chooses, and the guy singing us the one not chosen......Does anybody know which song I'm talking about? Sorry, I'm not too good with songs.
BowJoe
Re: Country Music Well heck yeah we ought to know. That's Rhett Akins. You know, the guy in the RTRT videos. He's the one singing. The song is called, "That Ain't My Truck". Great song and a big hit in Rhett's time at the top of the charts. I wished his song called, "Friday Night In Dixie" which he co-wrote with Charlie Daniels, would have made the radio stations. I was wondering if anyone knows the name of the song that had the lyrics, "...when mama calls you home..." in it. It might be the title of the song but I'm not sure and have been looking to find it. It was one Rhett sang in RTRT 3 at the cabin. The pilot had just got done saying how people didn't listen to the lyrics and the meaning of the words anymore and the it cut to Rhett singing. Anyway, my favorite country song is..."I'm Tired" by Toby Keith.
Jeramie
Re: Country Music I have way to many to actually have a favorite. Martina Sarah Evans I Believe - Brookes and Dunn Kenny Trust me, that list could go on and on....... However, I dont like the crossover junk that is suppose to be country like Big and Rich (cowboy troy), Trick Pony, etc. If you want to make that type of music FINE. Just dont call it country. I guarantee you none of the greats (Cash, the first Hank, Garth, Reba, etc) would have never put out a song about a Freak Parade.
Shaun_300
Re: Country Music Don't really have one either. Favourite songs change as their played. Right now my favourites are "The Last 10 Years" By Kenny Rogers, Hillbilly Deluxe by Brooks and Dunn, It Just Comes Natural by George Strait.... the list goes on and on. Jeramie
Re: Country Music [ QUOTE ] i like em all, but id have to say one of my favorites would be george strait, as for songs theres too many [/ QUOTE ] Here is a suggestion........ Her telephone rang about a quarter till nine, She heard his voice on the other end of the line. She wondered what was wrong this time. She never knew what his calls might bring, With a cowboy like him it could be anything. And she always expected the worst in the back of her mind. He said its cold out here and I’m all alone. Didn’t make the short go again, and I’m commin home. I know I’ve been away to long. I never got the chance to write or call. I know this rodeo’s been hard on us all. But ill be home soon, and honey is there something wrong? She said don’t bother commin home. By the time you get here ill be long gone. There’s somebody new and he sure ain’t no rodeo man. He said I’m sorry its come down to this. There’s so much about you that I’m gonna miss. But its ok Baby, If I hurry I can still make Cheyenne. Gotta go now Baby if I hurry I can still make Cheyenne. He left that phone danglin off the hook, then slowly turned around and gave it one last look. Then he just walked away. He aimed his truck toward that Wyoming line. With a little luck he could still get there in time. And in that Cheyenne wind he could still her here say. She never knew what his calls might bring. With a cowboy like him it could be anything, And she always expected the worse in the back of her mind.
Jeramie
Re: Country Music Speaking of Country (thats the polite way to say Hijack) Name These Tunes..... [ QUOTE ] He was sittin there, his brush in hand. Painting waves as they dances upon the sand. With every stroke he brought to life, The deep blue of the ocean against the morning sky. I asked him if he only painted ocean scenes? He said for twenty dollars, ill paint you anything. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I climbed back on that Eagle. Took one last look around. Red Tail lights, shadow moved slow across the ground. And off somewhere a midnight train slowly passes by. I could hear that whistle blowin, “I’m so lonesome I could cry.” [/ QUOTE ]
