Rhino
Re: TURKEY TEAM #21 Here too teammates. Went scouting this weekend. I have a few birds that I'm getting pegged down. Pulled my game cam from a spot and had about 80 pics of birds there. 180 pics total. Looks like at least 4 different long beards using that one area. Heard 2 of them gobbling Saturday morning. Might as well start getting some team names proposed to choose from. Post some that you like and I'll think about some too.
Rhino
Re: TURKEY TEAM #21 BTW...I see this year someone has been chosen to be team leader and for whatever reason Strut and snapper chose me. Don't ask me why.. Let's get an idea of how much spring turkey hunting experience each teammate has, number of days you expect to be able to hunt, and any other background turkey hunting information you'd like to share about yourself. I've been hunting ol' 3 toes for about 35 years or so now. I honestly don't have a clue how many birds I've killed over the years. I usually hunt around 20 to 25 days each year. Mississippi has a 47 day spring turkey season. Last year my season was cut a bit short because I limited out with my state's 3 gobbler bag limit on the 5th day I carried a weapon in the woods. I actually took 2 weeks off last year (carrying a weapon that is) and just carried a video camera to extend my season here at home. It also allowed me to pattern some more birds before I put the last one in the bag. After that I went to Texas and bagged 3 Rios to close out my spring season. This year I will spend as much time as I can hunting birds here at home so unless I limit out early, I'll be in the woods chasing ol' 3 toes a lot. I also have one out of state trip scheduled to go back to Texas in mid April to hunt Rios at the King Ranch. I'll also spend at least one weekend taking a youth hunting. While doing that I won't carry a weapon since I won't be the shooter.

boomer
Re: TURKEY TEAM #21 Well this will be my 10th year hunting turkeys. I mainly bowhunt for them but will also be using a smokepole this year. Our bow season starts march 25 to may 20. Shotgun starts on april 14. I will be out most weekends hunting or calling for friends.
IowaDeerHunter
Re: TURKEY TEAM #21 I am here now. Sorry to say my turkey season will be cut down to only a three day weekend and a couple extra weekdays. Main reason, #1 the season is SO SHORT! #2 I have something going on school related every weekend except one, so I have to make it count! Rhino
Re: TURKEY TEAM #21 [ QUOTE ] my vote is for full fan fanatics [/ QUOTE ] That's my favorite too. Let's hear for the other teammates before we settle on a name. BTW, I posted some more trail cam turkey pics in the photography & video forum that I got from a spot where I had my camera set up for 3 weeks. So far I've gotten a total of 96 pictures of birds there. 3 other sets I tried came back with 0 turkeys. Only deer and pigs at those other spots. I'll work on patterning those birds some more from Friday morning through the weekend. My season starts next Thursday.

Rhino
Re: TURKEY TEAM #21 I posted some details in the turkey room about my last 3 days of scouting. To say the least, I'm ready but with so many birds to choose from, I'm not sure where to start first. I'll be around until Wednesday around lunch. From then on through the weekend, I'll be chasing turkeys.

Rhino
Re: TEAM #21: Full Fan Fanatics Still no word from sportsman2500. I'm heading out to my hunting camp tomorrow afternoon. Since I'll be out of pocket chasing turkeys about 100 miles from home until next Monday or so, someone may need to send Strut10 a PM if sportsman2500 is still a no show by the March 17th deadline. Any volunteers?
