IowaDeerHunter
Guys I am still here and hoping the weather holds out for the last weekend. This time I will be holding the mossberg 835 with 3.5 inch shells! Have had a lot of action and came oh so close to two BIG toms with my brother. We got a little anxious and blew that one. Made a dumb mistake. But that is hunting.

Rhino
i was thinking we had one more member from GA. You're right sportsman and another from Iowa. Not sure where huntaholic and Buckfever1613 have been since checking in. I know Georgia's season is over but Iowa's season is still open. boomer
You're right sportsman and another from Iowa. Not sure where huntaholic and Buckfever1613 have been since checking in. I know Georgia's season is over but Iowa's season is still open. Looks like huntaholic got a bird awhile ago. Don't why he didn't post up a score or anything here. Went for a solo trip out to the pine ridge area last weekend. Got a bird at sunrise worked him all morning going from ridge to ridge. He finally gave up 5 minutes past noon. It is the last bird I've taken in a day and the hardest one. He had a 9.5beard spurs were R=15/16" and L=1" weight was 21.

IowaDeerHunter
well sorry guys, I couldn't connect this year. I put on an awesome stalk on a big old tom and called him in to eight yards. All I could see what his big red head, but it was to thick to shoot, and I had my gun pointed to far to the right of where he was. Was cool to see though, but would have been better in the back of my truck.
Rhino
Congrats boomer. Nice bird. Glad you hung in there on that long hunt. Didn't know huntaholic killed one earlier this year either. Sorry to hear you didn't connect this year IowaDeerHunter but at least you had some memorable close encounters. There's a lot to be said for that. Congrats to everyone for another memorable season and thanks for sharing your turkey tales here whether you slung one over your shoulder or not. To me the hunt is the real trophy in turkey hunting, not the bird.
IowaDeerHunter
Yeah, even though i would have loved to have gotten my first bird, or one for the team, hunting is not about killing something every season, but more of having fun out in the outdoors.
