Ambuscher
Re: TEAM #30: No Doubt Boys, we get to try and bad a bird in the morning. Finally LOL
Ambuscher
Successfully called up two other hunters this morning. That's on bad thing about hunting on public land. If I pull up on a spot and there a truck there already I move on to another spot. When I came out there was three trucks parked in the same little spot. Liked to never got my truck out since I was the first one there. So much for scouting out a little section (80 acres) that's tucked away all by itself. I guess we all had the same idea. There's always tomorrow.
ksbowhntr77
Hang in there everybody. I'm getting close to sealing the deal and I know everyone else is too. The weather is just now straightening out here. Warm weather = big, dead birds!!! NO DOUBT!!!!!
wtnhunt
Hopefully the weather here will decide what it is going to do and it will not be quite so windy for the remainder of the season.
Ambuscher
Well I've got to hear birds gobble every morning. I've got one located that is talking in the middle of the day (which is rare on this public land). Hopefully tomorrow will be the day. Ambuscher
I can't believe that I missed!!! Called one in about 11:00, but didn't get to see it. I could just sit there and listen to him drum. About 30 minutes later another one came in from the other direction and I guess I just rushed my shot. Just got in from double checking my pattern and the gun was fine. I've got one more day before the the public shows back up for the week-end. Later guys Frank
Spanky72
Hey team, I have been four times and still no luck I have heard them on the roost, but after they hit the ground it's another story. Anyway just checking in. Good Luck everyone heading out the door to see if todays the day.
wtnhunt
Birds been quiet here lately. Last few times I have been out, have not heard a single gobble. Figured since the weather warmed back up they would be a bit more vocal, but they seem to be shut down now
Strut10
Mark one for the team. Not a big scoring bird. Shot a very mouthy 2 year old this morning. I'll get pics and measurements up shortly.

Strut10
Well..........you're gonna hafta wait to see what one looks like. I have the photo uploaded on Picture Post. But I can't get it to come up from the thumbnail so I can copy the address for over here. I'll get the pic over here as soon as it'll work. Anyhow...... he's 20 lb. 9 oz. with a 10 1/8" beard and 3/4" spurs for 55.8125 points. No monster. But felt awfully good to pull the trigger on him after having to sit last year out totally. wtnhunt
Congratulations Don. Looks like a good bird to me.
Ambuscher
They are still gobbling here pretty good. It's just tough hunting the birds on the public land, so much pressure. I think Wednesday I'll stay with them from daylight to dark. Bound to be atleast one stupid bird walk by if I stay with it all day.
Strut10
Good kuck!! Bust us a big one!!
wtnhunt
Sorry I have not been a contributor to the team. Been a pretty screwy year here weather wise . Have not heard a gobble here the past several times I have been out, but did watch a hen dusting out the back sliding glass yesterday mid morning about 150 yards out from the house:confused: . ksbowhntr77
Alright, it's been a crazy last two weeks here, we got my brother married last weekend and then this week I've been working alot. But, I get tomorrow off of work AND it's not supposed to rain all day like it has for the last week. wtnhunt
I guess I'm not the only one that had no luck this year. No luck here either. Our season here ended yesterday. Was the worst turkey season since I started trying to hunt them. Sorry I was not able to contribute to the team.
Spanky72
Well team I am very, very sorry to report that I did not get a bird this year. It was NO DOUBT the hardest turkey season I have ever had. They weather was off. The bird weren't talking. I'm sorry I couldn't help.
ksbowhntr77
Well, guess what, no bird here either. Hard season and my time was kinda limited. Sorry guys. They kept roosting on me in the evening. They run hard to the call, loose interest and roost, kinda frustratin'. Gave it a good run. The only thing I got out of the season was introducing my best friend to turkey hunting. He absolutely loves it. He said the feeling is like no other.
