Turkeygirl
So I was doing the barn chores this morning, taking care of the horses, rabbits, chickens, etc... I was almost done, putting hay in the barn for the horses. My horse and my sister's horse are standing at a rack eating. I put a few flakes in the rack, turn to walk away and next thing I know I felt the edge of a hoof on my boot but more importantly my sister's horse flings her head around and chomps onto my right thigh! I scream at the horse then run in the house because I didn't know how bad it was. I am lucky I had a ripped up old pair of camo coveralls on...all I got is a read and starting to bruise swollen mark on my leg. Without the coveralls, would have been worse. Of course it's not going to stop me from going for a hike today to look for sheds, but i'm so mad at that horse and my bruise stings and is sore to say the least. Grrr....That mare is a witch.. wtnhunt
Re: Ouch!!! Sounds like that mare needs some work. Especially with having the kids, I would not keep a horse that could not be broke of biting. Hope it heals quick.

Buckslayer
Re: Ouch!!! Yeah I have to agree with everyone.... I've been around horses a lot, and I'm amazed you didn't haul off and smack that witch right between the eyes. I probably would have let a really good knuckle sandwich loose right for her darn snout. I have no patience for mean horses.... just always been taught to show them who's boss and show them you're upset by scolding.

[/ QUOTE ] LOl. been there and done that. Better off using a switch, all hitting a horse with your hand is going to do is just likely hurt your hand. [/ QUOTE ] Gotta agree William, its just that would have been MY first reaction, seeing as how I couldn't fetch up the lilac switch because the horse had my leg in its mouth, lol... Turkeygirl
Re: Ouch!!! i know, my mom said I should have disciplined her, but all I manage was a yell and an attemp to kick her which missed, lol. I was too worried about my leg, if it had a chunk out or not, at least not. And yes, it is a lovely shade of purple and blue.

Hoosierbuck
Re: Ouch!!! Remeber that scene in Conan The Barbarian when the camel spit on Arnold and he hauled off and K.O.'ed it. You should have done THAT. HB
christsavedme
Re: Ouch!!! That had to hurt.....I with wtnhunt on this one though....you would be better off with a switch....most of the time you are just gonna hurt yourself worse by hauling off and hitting the horse!
