Hardwood_HD
i have been looking for a varmint rifle and i would like to get a 22-250 and use it mainly for coyotes so I'm not wanting to spend too much money for only coyotes, it comes with a 6-18x40 scope for $340.. i have seen this gun for the same price with only a 3-9x40 so it seems to me like a good deal.. but i was wondering if this is a good gun or just a gun that wont shoot for crap over 100yds, and does this seem like a good deal for this gun and the scope to you guys? thanks in advance for any info, i really appriciate it
AJ
Re: Stevens model 200 question Well, you can get the gun new for $260. It had better be a decent quality scope for the other $80. The Stevens is basically a Savage bolt gun and they have a great reputation for accuracy. With a decent bedding job, I would expect the gun to shoot MOA or better at 100 yards. DU_man_84
Re: Stevens model 200 question i got the stevens 200 in a .22-250 with a BSA 3x9x40 deerhunter scope, you will like it, like AJ said all it is savage bolt rifle, without the accutrigger and a shorter barrel pretty much, and savage is known for accuracy, ive only got to shoot mine once, havent had the time, havent even been able to dial the scope in yet, only got my 25 yd sighted in to move out to 100, just no time and its driving me crazy but i can tell ya they can shoot past 100 yds my buddy who got the same one also, just took a yote at 323 yds the other day, i did alot of asking around when i first got it, on another predator forum and i had a lot of responses from guys with the same gun, and every response was positive im pretty sure they are accurate and worth the money, from what i have heard
AJ
Re: Stevens model 200 question [ QUOTE ] whats MOA? [/ QUOTE ] The acronym MOA stands for minute of angle. It basically translates to 1" at 100 yards. You can read more about it by clicking here.
