I used Tetra Gun Oil. Picked it up from my local Wal-Mart. FYI...I took a slightly different approach. After thoroughly cleaning the barrel from the lapping process I placed it in a preheated (200 degree) oven. Removed using a mitt and swabbed the bore with the Tetra. Worked for me.

Hello redpep smile.gif Good advice in here. This is what I did to my TC Encore before it was even fired=I used a hair dryer to heat up barrel.

I did all my lapping per instructions using a Napa product, (grease mix valve grinding compound), I then just used Rem. oil which contains teflon. Please follow Bluelks instructions, they are good smile.gif My Encore has great accuracy, and cleans very easily.I wish more in here would lapp, it gets rid of the burrs, and besides making cleaning so much easier, it improves accuracy, you are doing the right thing, good luck, you will be pleased smirk.gif

Hello red ! I did both, moved it outside up and down, and also down the barrel. You can feel when the barrel is getting hot. It didn't really take that long. The water treatment is also fine, I have done that before also. Good luck with both, you will be a happy camper when it is finished grin.gifsmirk.gif
