i bought a new 243 the other day for coyotes and the dealer only had the winchester supremes in 95 grain. i thought they were a little heavy for coyotes in illinois but i wanted to shoot lol. but now he has the winchester supreme ballistic silver tips in 55 grain. is this enough for coyotes?

55 grains will just fine as would 95 it's a matter of putting the round on the mark and taking him out humanely and if you can shoot a 55 bullet at a deer you should be able to take a coyote with a 55 grainer and heck 17 grain bullets will kill a coyote

The 55 gr bullet in the .243 Win is a great varmint round. It is very lethal on varmints/predators out past 500 yards. It is a varmint bullet so it will fragment very easily. This transfers the shock and energy to the animal and it can make some spectacular red mist on varmints.
