[/ QUOTE ] Hey Buckee, when you download the map level editor thing, in order to download the maps, where do you save it? Just under Deer Hunter 2005? That's where I saved the patch under, wasn't sure about the level editor thing.

M00N
Re: Anyone for DH 2005 Installing The Patch & Map Editor 1. Install the game. 2. Download the patch v1.2 to your Desktop. 3. Double click the patch file and follow the on screen installation instructions. (Once installed you can delete the patch file from your desktop.) 4. Download the Map Editor to your Desktop. 5. Double click the map editor file and follow the on screen installation instructions. (Once installed you can delete the patch file from your desktop.) 6. Now have fun and download all the maps you want. If you need another website, besides Atari or the other offical site, to get some different maps, any of the patches or map editors, tutorials, or FAQ's about the game then check out the site in my profile. It's free and non-profit. We have 204 DH2005 maps to pick from in our database made by our members, including Tom2008, myself, and many other great map makers. Turkeygirl
Re: Anyone for DH 2005 Hey Moon, I forgot you knew all this stuff. When I downloaded the patch, I saved it under the deer hunter 2005 in the atari folder under program files on the c drive. Is this all right? And when I got it downloaded, I clicked on it to finish its installation which it said it did.
M00N
Re: Anyone for DH 2005 Doesn't matter where you save the download files as long as you double click each of them (patch first, map editor second) and complete the installation program that runs up after double clicking them. Once that program completes then they are installed properly. Once installed, those files you downloaded aren't needed anymore and can be deleted. They just are installation EXE files that unpack other files in their correct destinations in your game folders and aren't needed in the game once ran at least one time by hand. If patched correctly when you run up your game the bottom right hand corner will have a 1.2 written in it. The Map editor if installed correctly will have an icon to run the program. The map editor runs independent of the game, meaning you cannot run it while the game is running you have to close the game first. Most people install it just because with it installed you have more compatibility with maps made by the map editor and don't actually ever run or use the program. Some people use it to make maps though, which takes a lot of patience and time.
Turkeygirl
Re: Anyone for DH 2005 Ok, that's good to know. I'll download the map tomorrow since it take forever, and then double click it. So I won't "break" anything deleting the patch and map editor file after they are double clicked and installed? M00N
Re: Anyone for DH 2005 Nope you won't break anything those files just are "unpackers" not actual files that do a task or are called by the game at all. They are manually run up by the users and unpack their guts into the game folders then are useless afterwards.
