bear89
I'm thinking about putting a red dot sight on my turkey gun this year. Was just wondering if some of you other folks have tried them. What brands you may recommend. Let me know what you think good or bad. Thanks!!
Strut10
Re: Red dots for turkey guns I definitely recommend the red-dot sight to anyone thinking about trying one. I use the el cheapo BSA 30mm sights and have had wonderful luck with them over 7 or so years. There are red dot sights in about every price range from $30 to a few hundred dollars. bear89
Re: Red dots for turkey guns Thanks a bunch for the warm welcome everyone. I've lurked around the Realtree forums for a while but just decided to register. Not sure what took so long. Been chasing the turkeybirds around New York State for almost twenty years now, with pretty consistant success. The toms are perhaps getting smarter or maybe I'm getting dumber but they have been tough to come by the last few years. I'm leaning towards a red dot rather than a scope because of the relatively short range, wider field of view and quick target acquisition. I've been looking at the Bushnell Trophy Dot and the Burris Speed Dot but I will check out the other brands suggested. Thanks again!!
