Off to a good start

Finally the snow has begun to retreat, at least on some of the south-facing slopes. So I took a couple hours both yesterday and today to do a little hiking and looking for sheds.

Good day yesterday - I think the most I've ever found in one day (3). Unfortunately, I didn't pack my camera. Today I did carry it and got a bunch of deer pictures as well as a shot of today's single shed at I found it.

All 4 of these sheds are right-handers, so there's a bunch more hiding somewhere. In addition, there are some mule deer and I haven't found any of their sheds yet.

Here's the type of terrain involved:

I pulled a sneak on this one and watched it from about 20 yards.

But this group busted me (for some reason, it doesn't seem to want to resize):

Today's shed lurking in a patch of Oregon grape:

And the weekend's take - 1 4-pt and 3 5-pt sides. Today's is on the lower left:

Re: Off to a good start

Thanks gang - there are, indeed, some nice bucks around.

wipointer, welcome to the forum. Those 2 do look quite similar, don't they. But they're definitely from 2 different bucks; the beading patterns are quite different and both are this year's drops. Perhaps they are related.
