Guest Andrea
Do any of you gals know how to knit?? Crochet?? I have always wanted to learn. My grandmother was really great at it. I have one of her afghans that she knitted. I should have asked her to teach me.
M00N
Re: Knitting I know how to do it, had to in home economics in junior high school, but I don't have a passion for it. I'm actually a really good sewer and knitter, but it's just not my thing. I still have a sweatshirt and a fuzzy stuffed soccer ball in my closet somewhere from home economics that I made. I used to also have a knit hat that I made in school, but one of the pups (I don't remember which one) chewed it up while going through the terrible puppy teens where they are a giant walking bunch of teeth, destruction, and attitude. lol
SUGARKAHNE
Re: Knitting I can crochet a little. I've made a couple scarves and potholders, and I'm about to start working on a baby blanket for my brother's baby. I've still got a couple of months to work on it though-he's not due until May. Deb
Re: Knitting I don't knit, but I do counted cross stitch. I've done a real neat doe and buck fall scene for my brother, a cool bass for my nephew, and a hen/rooster pheasent scene for me. I'd really like to find another deer scene. I like the lifelike ones. I have the tendency to do the major pieces!! Right now I'm about 1/4 of the way done on a poinsetta wreath piece. I hate working with the metalic thread, thou. I'v done some bird and flower pieces for my sister-in-law, too. My grandmother tought me to knit, but my fingers just don't have the nack for it. [/ QUOTE ] That sounds cool.....do you have any pictures of your work?? I've thought about doing cross-stitching too. But knitting looks less tedious. Deb
Re: Knitting I'll take some pics, but it will be awhile. I'm closing on a house and boxing everything up. I gotta move out of the war zone or I'll probably have free lodging for the rest of my life, compliments of the state of Ohio. Good news is that I'll be living 1 mile from a lottery hunt that I've been drawn for the last 2 years. It may be a month before I dig out the cross stitch and hang it. Have to paint the entire house before I can do anything.
