NYBUCK Posted March 5, 2007 Report Share Posted March 5, 2007 Time to brag about my youngest a little bit. Most of you know that she plays Div III basketball for an upstate NY college. I just wanted to fill you in on how the year went. She was named captain as a junior at the beginning of the year. They finished the year 22-8. Most wins ever and most games played in a season by her school. They finished 2nd in the conference and lost in the semi-finals of the conference tournament. They were the only team that beat the #1 team in the conference and also took the #4 team in the nation, at that time to double overtime. They got the number 2 seed in the ECAC tournament and lost in the finals. She scored a career high 26 points had 5 rebounds and dished out 5 assist in the effort. Here are her averages for the season. Started 28 games ( she sat out two games because of knee injury) Averaged just under 30 minutes per game Averaged 8. 3 points per game Averaged 4.1 rebounds ( not bad for a 5'6" guard) 2.5 assist 1.5 steals Shot 72% from the free throw line. All of this after we lost our best player, who is a senior, to a torn ACL. I am pretty proud of how she stepped up. Sorry for bragging but I am proud of this little girl.
