i just remembered that when i was about 7 or 8 my cousin and i were out at the pond at my grandpa's ranch. well i had my little red rider bb gun and there was a coot in the weeds about 30-40 yards away. well corey told me to shoot it and of course i said ok thinking there was no way. to make a long story short i shot it right in the head and killed it. i felt soo guilty after that that i told my dad and he gave me a talkin to and took my bbgun away for a week. but i guess my first "duck" was a coot and my first LEGAL duck was the pintail drake.

Re: First Duck

My first duck was a cripple that I had knocked down and my buddy literally triped over the reed he was sitting under. It was a greenhead drake. That day we knocked down 3-4 mallards but they would swim and hide before we could get some more steal in em'. "We didn't have a dog at the time" I've been addicted ever since!!!
