Re: Anyone tonight for DH 2005

I'm not sure what maps 100% work without the map editor. I would like to say a lot of them will work without it, but can't be 100% positive. Most you can do is download maps and try them without the map editor installed. It won't even load the map at all if it needs the map editor you'll get an annoying error message instead.

I recommend if you're downloading from RMHL to look for maps with the author name of Kyrstally, Tom2008, Aphex, or myself (Moon). Those maps tend to be the most popular on our site for downloads by users. Alot of the rares and monsters came from those member's maps. grin.gif

Yeah the map editor will download slow when you're on dial-up 32MB takes a long time for dial-up users to get. Make sure you burn it off to disk with the patch somewhere once you do get it downloaded that way if you ever reinstall the game again don't have to do the download all over again. wink.gif

Re: Anyone tonight for DH 2005

Hey M00N - you don't have to have the actual DH 2005 disk in the drive when downloading like the editor and patch right? i'm guessing correct.

I got the editor downloaded of RMHL, then double clicked on the file to finish installing it and it said the files were corrupted and to download somewhere else???

So now I'm trying off the atari website again....

Re: Anyone tonight for DH 2005

Probably your dial-up corrupting it because I just downloaded it just fine on DSL Ruth with no corruption. I reinstalled the game on my dad's computer for him to mess with when bored. You don't need your disk in the drive to download it. That doesn't make a difference. I bet your dial-up is just timing out part way through and unable for some reason to resume where it was at correctly causing file corruption.

Hi Ruth if your having trouble downloading big files on dial up try using a download manager, they will remember where the download left off if you lose your connection and resume from there. I used to use a program called Getright when i was on dial up but it's no longer a free program but this one is and it looks like it would work the same download manager

Re: Anyone tonight for DH 2005

A lot of sites disallow download managers and accelerators being used on their servers for these games because they strain the servers. Make sure you check the site out for any rules against it before you use something like that on a server. I know Atari probably doesn't care, but a lot of the small unnofficial support sites for these games will promptly give you the boot off the server for using those things. wink.gif
