Deer Roast

Anyone know the best way to make a deer roast in a crock pot? Should I marinate it, or mix seasoning in? Any info is good info, thanks.

I use my crock pot all the time. The one thing you need to remember is that the roast will make most of moisture you need. So extra marinates are not needed in the crock pot. I usually rub mine down with Dinosaur BBQ Rub and about 1 cup of beer or wine.

When I do a roast in the crock pot I fill the crock pot up with water so it covers the piece of meat and then I dump in one package of liptons french onion soup mix, I also add potatos and carrotts. I have fed it to people who have never liked venison and they have loved it. I bet you will like it!!

I rub the roast down with garlic, salt and pepper. I slice onions and cover the roast with them. Then I put about 3 or 4 cups of water in the pot with the roast. Once it has been cooking for about 5 or 6 hours on low I add the potatoes and carrots. Sometimes I add diced tomatoes and peas and corn.

Have done this before but with liptons beefy onion soup mix, turns out pretty good.
