Turkeygirl
Re: Room for Christian Outdoorsmen and women A+ idea! Not only a great way for other Christians to fellowship but in a way it serves as ministry to others - Christian and non-Christian. New members and old will come in, check it out, and see what it's all about:-) I like Realtree at the Cross.

TreeWalker
Re: Room for Christian Outdoorsmen and women DG, I hate to say this, but your demeanor and comments in this thread are a perfect example of why we do need a separate room......not only are the masses excited about it, but now they will have a place they can go for a uplifting experience and or spiritual renewal, without ridicule or criticism.......which are some of the main reason many have stayed out of the "old" room, and have been visiting a single thread instead........it's long over due, and by the rest of the responses, seems most agree. Gator
Re: Room for Christian Outdoorsmen and women After much thinking on this, I must ask WHY??? Is it THAT necessary? There already is a romm for "religion", and then there is the Journal for Christian men and women in the UDJ. Why make ANOTHER room? Will a room be taken away to make room for this, or will it just be added? Just trying to get an understanding here

If your going to have a christian room, your going to need alot of other rooms as well to serve all the other religions/beliefs of the world. No need to discriminate here at realtree.com I figure. Kinda sounds to me this is going to happen, so can people like me have a "On the fence about god" forum as well......?
Tominator
Re: Room for Christian Outdoorsmen and women Ohhhhhhh, OK, I got it now. Somehow I missed this thread yesterday. Stupid masters degree. Yeah, it's a good idea. I'd like to see it. I could see a lot of prayer requests going in there, and like Jeramie says "daily bread" type posts. Good idea. I can also see the debate type posts just being moved to the politics and religion room, as I still think that room serves a purpose. The new room fills a needed niche. My vote for the name would be what Jeramie suggested "Daily Bread" or "The Way and the Light"
TreeWalker
Re: Room for Christian Outdoorsmen and women JimT and Gator......the new room will be for all of these things. The Devotional and Study thread will be there.....all prayer requests will go there, which is really great, because they will be easyier to keep up to date on instead of loosing track of them several pages back like now......It will also be a place to go for prayer, for help, to lay out your troubles and for others to help lift a person up....spiritual renewal....etc....etc....religious discussion, and even study......... It needed to be seperated from the Political thread, as it often lead to hostile comments and clouded issues......politics is very often a very divided and emotional topic......with a separate room for religious topics, clearer and cleaner heads will predominantly prevail and more common ground will be shared...... Gator
Re: Room for Christian Outdoorsmen and women I gotta question I would like to have answered. First off, what is your opinion of say those who may drink alcohol 7 days a week, cuss a storm, yet go to church on Sunday? Just because they go to church, does that make them a Christian?
JimT
Re: Room for Christian Outdoorsmen and women Thats not what was posted though..The title of this thread says a Christian Outdoorsman and Woman forum. Seperating politics and religion is a good thing. Creating a christian only room is not, in my book anyways. Splitting the politics/religion room would work. I would just add a room for religious topics, but not get rid of another room to make space for a new room.

[/ QUOTE ] I have had this discussion several times. This is not really the thread for this I figure, but some of the christians I know are not good people, but figure if they go on sunday and pay there way into heaven, it is all good. Some people just need the assurance that they are good people. Some are, some are far from it. I am not bashing people of faith. You live your life and I will live mine. I just do not get it I guess. Anyways....
