TreeStandBowHunter Posted March 8, 2007 Report Share Posted March 8, 2007 I received my orders today to report to Okinawa NLT 15 Sept. This is great news. I was hoping that I would get these orders. My wife and kids are ready to go as well. We will be there for three years. It's just a pain when you first get over there because on-base housing is not usually avail so therefore, you have to live out in town. Not a big deal except for the fact that the houses in Okinawa are small compared to what we are used too. So a busy summer is in store. I will be going to Australia in early June and will be back in July. Right after that, I will check-out of my unit here and go on leave for about 1 month in PA where I will store our vehicles. Living on base in Okinawa is the same as living here in the US. No hunting where I am going so I will have to hang the bow up for at least three years. Lots of scuba, snorkling, water activities to do there. The weather is warm all year round in Okinawa so that's nice although I will miss the seasons like here in Mass.
