Sam16
Re: rest They make that felt for bows, but im not sure how that would affect the flight... Not positive if it would work or not...
MUDRUNNER
Re: rest A FEW YEARS AGO I JUST STRIPPED SOME WIRE I HAD LYING AROUND AND SLIPPED THE INSULATION OVER THE PRONGS.IT MAY AFFECT YOUR ARROW FLIGHT A LITTLE THOUGH. Chrud
Re: rest MOLESKIN...in the foot care department at Walgreens. It has adhesive backing on it, none better. MUCH better than shirk tubing.
JimT
Re: rest I used heat shrink tubing when I had a prong rest. Not an issue anymore now that I use a biscuit.
Hoyt03
Re: rest Cant help ya out for right now, but when the seasons over go get you some of the white teflon covers. They will last you alot longer then the rubber ones, so this time next year you will be good to go.
billygoat
Re: rest Unfortunately, almost anything "added" to your prong is going to change your arrow flight. If you are in a real pinch, consider electrical tape, it is probably the "thinnest" product and would have the least amount of affect on your arrow flight Just out of curiosity... why the urgent need? Tominator
Re: rest prong rest or drop away? i have a drop away and i have mole skin over it. i'd suggest the teflon sleeves for a prong rest, and mole skin for a drop away

Guest bigbuckmiddaugh
Re: rest I hate to disagree, heat shrink, teflon, i even bought some mole skin in bandage area. It still gave me that ssssssss when drawing my bow. When its dead still out, OH is that loud. When i used my old prong rest, i put those tubes on it. They are covered with something black and really soft and very very quiet. It was the ONLY thing i have ever found to be quiet. I have my old one's here, still shootable and good yet. PM me your address and you can have them. They slide right on your prongs and when you practice, slide them off and use them for hunting only. Of course, after practing with regular tubes, take a practice shot with these on, just to make sure. If you know what i mean! LOL Trust me, these are what you want! Washi
Re: rest [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I know about the rubber things that you can buy that go on the end, but I do not have time to go get them, so I am in need of something that I can use until I get a chance to get to the store and get some. [/ QUOTE ] In a pinch I've used chapstick. This may sound stupid but it worked. It wasn't 100% silent but it was better than metal on metal. [/ QUOTE ] I bet string wax would help too then.
