Guest Clay008
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17538139/ I just saw this article today and thought I would share it with everyone. Looks like this could become/is an important case involving the second amendment.
Adjam5
Re: Gun Control in D.C. WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing that. Lets see the antis try to spin this! If I may quote Mr Michael Waddell. " It is truly happy day"
buckee
Re: Gun Control in D.C. [ QUOTE ] The Bush administration has endorsed individual gun-ownership rights but the Supreme Court has never settled the issue. If the dispute makes it to the high court, it would be the first case in nearly 70 years to address the Second Amendment's scope. [/ QUOTE ] Well, I sure hope it makes it to the supreme court soon, because the problem with interpretation will continue to exist, until it does. toddpipkin
Re: Gun Control in D.C. Heard it on Rush Limbaugh minutes after it happened!! This could be the best thing that ever happened to this country, or it could be the WORST. This was from a panel of only 3 of the twelve judges in the D.C, District. The case will most assuredly be appealed to be heard en banc by the full Court. If the full court upholds the panel's ruling, it will certainly be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, as this is in direct conflict with a ruling by the asinine and idiotic Ninth Circuit in California. If the Supreme Court even agrees to hear the case (not likely before next year's elections) and actually upholds the D.C. ruling, WOO-HOOOOOOoooooo!!!!!! Happy days are here again !!! But there are MANY ways foir this to be sidetracked before getting there, and you can believe the Democrats will pull out ALL the stops to win this one !!! wtnhunt
Re: Gun Control in D.C. Heard this story on the news last night on NBC. Was voted down 2-1. Big win, but they said that it will be appealed, which could be bad.
Guest Bluetick
Re: Gun Control in D.C. The district can initally request the case be heard by the full court of appeals. Some think they will take that route due to the makeup of the court. Of course, a lose there just means this goes forward to the Supreme Court.
