Re: 2\" vs 1.5\" Blazer vanes?

I've switched to 2 inch blazers on my X-cutters for 3-D and they've impressed me. My arrow is way too stiff, but my groups have been great out to 50 yards.

I had given them a try with my Spitfires a couple of seasons ago and gave up on them too quickly, I guess.

Re: 2\" vs 1.5\" Blazer vanes?

I used the 2" last year with 25.5" Gold Tip Xt 5575s, 5" wraps, and the G5 Tekan BH.

Wanting to make up some new arrows for this year and saw the 1.5" size and though... HHHhhmmmm.

May just go with the 2" anyways.

Not like 2 grains less per vane from one to the other will help me out much.

Bohning says the 1.5" blazers are meant for target shooting while they say the 2" blazers are meant for broadhead shooting. I wouldn't recommend the 1.5" blazers on a hunting setup. They are more meant to make field tips fly nicely than broadheads.

In my experience, shorter fletchings generally work better with faster arrows.

Your actual arrow speed will play an important part in whether this will work for you or not. Fletch a couple with the shorty's and see how they do. Since, you're using mech's a fieldpoint fletch has a shot at working.

One will be better than the other. But I can't tell you which one. Gonna have to try it yourself, sorry.
