Guest bruteshooter
So no one is perfect and we all can stand to learn something new. If he/she is a seasoned woodsman or a fairly new archer/hunter, if it helps, - listen and learn from them. What is the single thing that you learned last season that will change things for you this season? How will you implement the change? wtnhunt
Re: Deer school 101 Really can honestly say that last season reinforced to me, my wife and daughter that the neighboring shooters will shoot anything and everything we pass up, and that come rifle season the chances of killing a deer or even seeing deer for that matter will diminsh incredibly. That said seasons to come we will put our greatest focus on hunting prior to the rifle seasons.

johnf
Re: Deer school 101 Make sure when bow hunting that you have at least one opening to shoot in every conceivable direction. I had to pass on a 150+ inch 10pt at 5 yards because I didn't take the time to clip some twiggs.
Tominator
Re: Deer school 101 Major abdominal surgery in September nearly ruins your bow season. The cure, hope that I don't grow something that needs to be removed.
DowninWhiteys
Re: Deer school 101 Check your equipment over before you get out to the woods. This last season I found a crack in the bottom limb of my bow as I was hooking up the hoist rope to it. Could've had disastrous results if I had drawn that thing. Firearm hunting- Make sure you have the correct ammo for your rifle.

Rhino
Re: Deer school 101 From the trail cam pics of mature bucks I got here at home during the season and where some were seen and/or killed, most sure use more area around here than I thought. The cure...stick to good funnels because you just never know which one and when they'll show up.
