A twist in the Zaccheus story...

So yesterday I picked Maddie, our 4 yr old, up from school. On the way home, I asked her what all she learned to which she told me that they learned the Zaccheus story. To reinforce their learning, I try to rehash the story (usually she knows the story better than I do!!!). We got all the way through the story up to the part where this exchange takes place:

Dad: So Zaccheus was too short to see over the other people?

Mad: Yep.

Dad: So what did Zaccheus do?

Mad: He climbed a tree so he could see.

Dad: Do you remember what kind of tree?

Mad: It was a maple tree silly Dada.

Dad: Well, it was actually a sycamore tree. Did Zaccheus get to see Jesus?

Mad: Yep - when Jesus walked by on the street.

Dad: Then what happened?

Mad: Jesus saw him up in the tree.

Dad: Did Jesus say anything to Zaccheus?

Mad: Yep. He said Zaccheus come down from there.

Dad: Why did he tell Zaccheus to come down?

Mad: BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS TO CLIMB IN TREES....

I busted a gut... laugh.gif

Re: A twist in the Zaccheus story...

LOL....thats a great answer from a 4 year old..........I had a buddy call my son Sawyer on his birthday the other day, he just turned (4) and is a huge power ranger fan, so my buddy pretended to be the Red Power Ranger, and wished my son a happy birthday on 9am break at work...well at noon I call him up, and he says "ohhh, its just dad....I was hoping the red ranger would call me back...........gotta love kids.............al
