So what is your plan?

Re: So what is your plan?

Will be planting probably around one acre total this spring of a mix of beans peas and sorghum, and will also be planting some corn.

My oldest daughter will be working on a 1/4 acre plot, not exactly sure just yet what that plot will be.

Fall will be planting an acre of clover and rye and a mix of oats with a winter mix from hamann farms.

Re: So what is your plan?

We are tearing up the main field and doing a total replanting on our own land.

12 acres of clover

3 acres of alfalfa and chicory

3 acres of clover and chicory

1 1/2 acres of Power Plant

1 1/4 acres of Extreme

5 acres of corn and soybean

plus a couple acres we haven't decided on what to plant yet.

Our lease land has been sold so we are going to concentrate solely on our own property for now.

We will post pics. as we progress.

Like anything else, all this is subject to change but I ordered the seed last Friday. We are tweaking the map on a daily basis!

Re: So what is your plan?

We have about 100 acres of alfalfa now, and about 4 acres of clover, but this spring we are going to add corn to the mix. We are going to plant around 4 to 5 acres of corn. This fall we are going to plant 1/2 acre of Whitetail institue winter greens and next to that 1/2 acre shot plot brassica mix to see what the deer might like better. I am also going to do a couple of small plots of seceret spot where my treestands are located. I believe we might also turn some of the log trails into clover also, we are still talking about that right now.

Should be a lot of fun and hard work grin.gif

We will be planting 7-8 acres of corn.Plus a couple acres of Whitetail Extreme.I'm also gonna plant a few plots of sunflowers to help keep the turkeys around. We've got a 2 acre spot that has aways been corn and we'll probably plant it in redland clover.

Just curious, do you have a corn planter or do you plant your corn some other way?

Yes we do have a planter. It a old john deere 4 row planter.we did use a one row and this bigger one is so much easier except we still have to refer to the manual to get it going every year.lol grin.gif

We just bought a John Deere 494A four row corn planter this past winter. I wonder if we have the same type of planter. Ours was built in the late 60's
