I finally have the nests in the water and not a minute to soon.

The water is about 1' deep and the mud about 2'. I don't have wadders so I just had to make due. The good news is that no pictures were taken when I fell. grin.gif That mud is just plain hard to get through.

Ok so here I am pounding the base post in. The base post is 8' long and it only took a whack or two to get it in place.

After some guestamation I drilled some holes to set the height of the nest. I set the nest about 4' off the water. From looking at the water stains on the reeds it looks like the water can rise about 1'. If it does the nests will be the 3' minimum distance above the water.

Here is the first nest open and ready for business.

And here is the second.

Now all I can do is cross my fingers and hope that some hen is willing to move in.

And this is just a picture I like.
