ky_deerhunter_77
I was needing a new scope? It's going to be but on a REM 700 XCR. Just need so good suggestions. I saw one in the Cheaper Than Dirt mag. I think it was a 12-45X85.
snapper
Re: Looking for a new scope [ QUOTE ] I think it was a 12-45X85 [/ QUOTE ] Ummmmmm, I think you'll have trouble getting an 85mm to clear the barrel. You sure that wasn't a spotting scope?
OJR
Re: Looking for a new scope That is the size of a spotting scope. No scope that size would ever fit on a rifle! 55mm is about the biggest object end you could fit on a rifle and you would need high rings or one of the new Leupolds might work! Better check you demensions again! I would suggest a Burris! I have had good luck with them!
ky_deerhunter_77
Re: Looking for a new scope That is what I thought. But it had a scope rail, and where the adjustment are it turn up for an 1" or 1 1/2" and then back out. It's the oddest scope I ever saw. [/ QUOTE ] Think ATN scopes are made in the United States, from what I have read about them, they are good scopes, but I have no first hand experience with them. bowana
Re: Looking for a new scope ATN specializes in night vision. Depending on what your budget is, I would go Leupold first, Nikon second. The VariXIII series is great. I would opt for the Monarch Series is selecting a Nikon. 2.5x10 or 3x9 is the desired power for Deer Hunting. If you can afford it, I would opt for a 50mm objective instead of a 40mm. Gives you just a little more shooting light at dusk.
tped
Re: Looking for a new scope I prefer the Nikon Monarchs and since Nikon is upgrading them there are deals to be had that are pretty sweet right now on the Monarchs.
Guest okla_bowhunter
Re: Looking for a new scope I just ordered a nikon buckmaster 4.5x14x40. My dad got one and it is awesome. IT is clear and has plenty of zoom power. But anyway, i would go with a nikon, because if you go with any other brand, you get a good scope, but you are also paying too much for the name that is on the scope.
