Any suggsetions?

I know a lot of people don't lap their rings they just slap a scope in rings and call good, so my question is how inportant is to lap the rings, assumuing they don't have any major burs or anything?

Also I did a search looking for the article about scope mounting that used to be on here and I can't seem to find it

Thanks,

Re: Selecting new scope rings.

I am not a big fan of the Weaver type mounts unless its the only type of mount available. In the event I would have to use a Weaver type mount, I prefer the Warne mounts and rings. They are high quality and very strong.

For most bolt guns, I will use Leupold mounts and rings. I like the two piece best. If they are not available, I will use Burris two piece set but I don't like the Signature rings as I have had a lot of problems with them slipping. I will not use them again.

Here is the thread on How I Mount Scopes.
