Guest kydeerhunter8
Re: Another ATV delima... In regards to the pricing.......Are you only going by msrp or the actual price the dealer's are willing to take on the quads. Personally, I have priced new brute force's cheaper than grizzly's. Also, from what I've heard the 07 brute has been tweaked to have better handling, easier steering, and even more power. My vote goes with the brute. Guest ultralite31
Re: Another ATV delima... umm well i am not sure "texastrophies" but u would think the manufacturers could seal the water out!! but i know for a fact yamaha's dont however i cant speak for other models becuase i have never rode them!! but this is exactly why i would not buy a belt driven atv!! shafts dont slip! fisherguy
Re: Another ATV delima... of the ones you named i would go Suzuki First, Kawasaki Second. Curious why you eliminated Can-Am if power is you #1 concern. The Can-Am atv's have more power than all the competitors in just about every engine size class. [/ QUOTE ] They can't seal the water out. For the belt and system to survive, it has to be cooled off and the way this is done is to have an air inlet and outlet to get fresh air in and hot air out. Water get's in through these ducts, if you get the atv in deep enough
snapper
Re: Another ATV delima... Yeah I checked with the dealer for pricing...around here...the Grizzly is a little cheaper than the BF....not much to make a difference in my opinion. As for the Can am...yeah power is one of my main things...but price is a close second. The Can am is well over a grand more than any of the three I'm looking at. Plus, there are alot of Kaw., Yamaha, Suz. dealers in my area if I need service or parts later. Only one Can am dealer...and they already moved once in the past year...so I'm kinda leary of that. Not saying any one machine is better or worse than the next...I just haven't purchased or looked at new ATV's for years and trying to weigh out all my options. I guess my main question to everyone is...what would you look at? Brand loyalty?, Price?, Power?, other features etc...? To me, price and power are the main two concerns...which the BF wins...I also like the looks of the BF. And no, I haven't bought anything yet...maybe a little while yet anyways! coles
Re: Another ATV delima... if you get the brute force and put a pipe on it, it could sound like this with a little work--- doesnt that thing sound awesome. like its got a v-8. i think the guy has it bored out to 840cc. --as for things to look for not only do you need to be concerned about power and price but you need to be concerned about the dealers loyalty to you and your business. the guy i got my grizzly from is a really good guy and i know he would stand by it if need be. features are also a good thing to look for but not always necessary. what are you going to use this bike for mainly? that will determine things too. AJ
So Snapper, what did you get? I am in data gathering mode for my quad purchase. I have it down to a big bore sport (Yamaha 700 Raptor) or a Brute Force 650i/750i. I may wait till summer to see if Kawi is going to release a FI version as I don't want a carb. My riding will entail a lot of elevation changes (4000 - 12,000) so FI is definately a plus.
snapper
Haven't got it yet...but I'm getting the Brute Force 750i in Realtree HD green! Should be picking it up either tom. (Friday) or Saturday. I need to call him and see about getting a winch installed first...so, I guess it depends on how long that will take. The fuel injection would be nice...but for me, the only real benefit would be the cold start ups. I've dealt with a choke for years...never really an issue. BTW, I'm wondering if the whole elevation thingy is a bunch of smoke...I know a few folks who I talked to about that and they told me that they never had an issue with their "non" FI quads when they took them out west (Colorado and Montana)? Don't know?

MichiganHunter
I like Yamaha over the other two......i like the idea of the new power stearing an i have always enjoyed there quality
snapper
Thanks for your opinions...I like the Kaw better than the Grizzly. Rode both, the power steering was nice...but not a selling point to me. As for power...the Brute Force has more and just felt snappier than the Grizzly. Haven't got it out for a long ride yet...but overall...very pleased with the Brute so far!
brad dryden
Have you considered the Hondas? I have a Honda Rancher 350 and it has a gear shaft no belts or chains. Also has features that you are looking for not all of them but some. Not 100% sure if the new Hondas are shaft driving. They also come with power steering. Just maybe consider them. http://powersports.honda.com/preview/?ZoomToModel=4 http://powersports.honda.com/atvs/utility/model.asp?ModelName=FourTrax+Rincon&ModelYear=2007&ModelId=TRX680FA7
snapper
I already bought the Kaw Brute force...but, I did look at Honda's just because of their transmissions compared to everyone else's belt drive. I liked that about Honda's...but that was it. If you read my first post...most important to me was looks, which I personally think Honda's are behind in that department. 2nd was power, Honda doesn't make a machine that even compares for the money. I think I'll be very pleased with the Kaw.
