Turkeygirl
Does anyone have any good tips on tying nock points inside a string loop? I got a string loop installed and the shop put on a brass nock for under the arrow, I want to remove that and tie in a nock point (I've got the thread) Should I mark where the brass nock is as I'm assuming that is marking the nock height/point? Should I tie a point in above the arrow also? My string loop is tied on really well which I guess is a good thing. Anyone have any pictures maybe? Oh, and I need to adjust my peep up a little so I'll have to undo the serve around that, but what is a good way for tying in the peep? I have one with the tubing but may switch to tubeless over time. Thanks guys!
wtnhunt
Re: Loops and nock points I use just a loop on my bow Ruth. The wifes bow has a brass point, I plan to remove it. So long as you have your loop on your string where it needs to be and the arrow has no play, you really do not need a nock point, brass or tied on serving. I let the pro shop serve in the wifes meta peep site, bought some arrows for her, and they charged me nothing for the work on her bow. The bow tech there just tied above and below, and did not tie in the peep around it like I thought he would. Far as the existing serving above your peep, sometimes if careful you can slide the serving on your string just enough to move your sight. Think I am going to also switch over to the meta to get away from the rubber tubing. Somewhere I have a diagram on how to tie servings, really is just a pretty simple series of knots. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Loops and nock points My string loop is my arrow nock, that is how my pro shop installs them. They cringe at the brass nocks! Anytime you take weight off a string your going to gain some speed. They just tied the loop knots and gave them a quick pull with pliers and it has never moved. Arrow goes between the loop and I am all set. Super simple and clean set-up. You might find an illustration of how to do this over at Archerytalk, do a search of ask. I have seen it somewhere but can't seem to find it now.
Turkeygirl
Re: Loops and nock points Ok. Loop seems really tight on...could probably get away without nock points, but since the brass nock is on there, I'm thinking I need to put a nock point on so I don't loose the nock set, or move the loop up to that pint... wtnhunt
Re: Loops and nock points Once you take the nock point off, loosen the loop and adjust it to where it fits where the nock point was at.
