RangerClay
Has any of my brother New Yorkers noticed the big push from Albany to support Grannis. Last weekend there was a big article in the Syracuse Herald Journal and now I have found this, Spitzer Support In my humble opinion it sounds like a bunch of political hogwash They are saying a bunch of buzzwords that sportsmen want to hear but their lack of support in the past has shown otherwise. I see a wolf in sheeps clothing. Does anyone see it besides me? Fortunately my State Senator has said he will not support his nomination. Has anyone else heard back from their Senator? QDMAworks4me
Re: NY Sportsmen vs \"Pete\" Grannis I also recieved a letter from Senator Wright, it was a very well written two page letter explaining his views. I have read the articles that have been written about Grannis and it really seems to me like the government is trying to sugar coat everything "Pete" has done in the past and I just don't trust what they have to say right now. I guess we will see what happens.
NYBUCK
Re: NY Sportsmen vs \"Pete\" Grannis Joe, it was in our paper today also. I don't trust any of them. I on a side note, Tom King is coming to our rifle club next Wednesday for our monthly dinner and is going to speak. It should be interesting. Adjam5
Re: NY Sportsmen vs \"Pete\" Grannis I haven't seen anything as of yet down here. I do know that Grannis has tapped a republican from here in Rockland, Tom Morahan; to be his liason. So I guess I have NO chance of my state senator nixing his appointment Grannis has to go...I have to agree with you Joe, his whole campaign as of late has incredible amount of spin on it. The NYSRPA "Bullet" has spoke about Grannis and it is thumbs down all the way.

NYBUCK
Re: NY Sportsmen vs \"Pete\" Grannis [ QUOTE ] I smell a rat... [/ QUOTE ] Art this guy is worst than a rat ..... Last night we had our monthly dinner at the rifle club and Tom King, president of the NYS rifle and pistol association and board member on the NRA spoke to us about what the future holds. Tom is a great speaker and ambassador for shooters and hunters and I had the luxury of speaking with him for quite some time. I will tell you I came away from there scared to death. He believes that despite the hearings being pushed back that Grannis will get the nomination. I have yet to hear anything good about this man. Not only has he been supportive of anti-hunting groups and pushed for legislation for gun bans he also is anti-snowmobiling and anti-atv. I really believe that this man will destroy all of NY's most treasured past times if he is nominated. We still need to keep pushing and continue to contact our local congress people. On another board I found a great petition. Please sign it and pass it on to everyone else you possibly can. http://www.petitiononline.com/nogranni/petition.html Thanks, Jim
Adjam5
Re: NY Sportsmen vs \"Pete\" Grannis Will do Jim, Thanks for the update. The NYSRPA is NYers best voice for keeping the rats out! The constant whittling away at what and who we are HAS to stop. The Spitzer steamroller seems to be slowing down a bit, and as long as sportsmen keep the pressure on...Grannis may not make it. I hope
QDMAworks4me
Re: NY Sportsmen vs \"Pete\" Grannis It is a great thing to sign, I signed the petition awhile back. We have to make sure that our voices are heard!!
