Great news. The leg bones weren't shattered. The bullet blew chips off and apparently it's not as bad as what was first thought. No surgery, and he gets to walk around with a .45 slug inside his calf forever. Doc said they'll stabilize it and he has to stay off completely for 4-6 weeks then who knows.

If you think about, it he got off lucky.

I once was stupid, and fortunate at the same time. Was going to clean my 9mm one day and forgot to take the clip out, I pulled the slide back, locked it, then flipped the release lever. I pulled the slide back while simultaneously pulling the trigger. I couldn't figure out why the slide wasn't going all the way forward. One push forward and a hole in the floor later, I knew why.

He was blessed. That could have ended very bad. Im glad to hear it isnt as bad as first assumed....
