too_pointer
Re: Why not an autoloader?? [ QUOTE ] The only drawback to the 760, 6, 7600 and the 742, 4, and 7400, is the metal receiver at the balance point of the gun. I am not a fan of wearing gloves when I hunt and holding a cold metal receiver is not a lot of fun. This is where the bolt gun wins for me on a cold day. [/ QUOTE ] Oh, so this is why you moved to New Mexico, no cold recievers LOL
AJ
Re: Why not an autoloader?? Yeppir! Now the opposite problem exists. The sun is so hot it will cook your hand if you grab bare blued metal. I guess its back to the other guns. I do own a 760 and a 742 Carbine though.
ky_deerhunter_77
Re: Why not an autoloader?? I use the REM 7400 in a 30-06, and love it. It's a little bit heaver than my Savage 110, but that's what I like. You do have the 2, 3, and 4, shots if you miss or if you try to get two deer on one hunting trip . bowana
Re: Why not an autoloader?? You guys are way to caught up in the function isssue [ QUOTE ] i dont like autoloaders or pumps the reason i dont like pumps dont like the style or looks for starters and there noise or all the ones ive ever handled are and for. Auto loaders always more room for era in function [/ QUOTE ] Remember, the United States Armed forces uses 98% Semi-full Auto Weapons. Since I carried one for over 6 years I can tell you that with proper maint. they are every bit as reliable as a bolt gun. I actually hunted in Montana with a guy that had a Weatherby Accumark 30-378 and it would not fire when he tried to shoot a mulie. He had not cleaned and oiled the bolt and water/rust had froze the spring into the cocked position. Ouch!!
