Re: Need help!

Well, I used to use chicken liver all the time, but I had problems fighting off all the turtles before getting to the catfish. After fishing in Oklahoma a couple years ago, an old feller there had me using cut shad. We caught some great blue catfish weighing up to 20 pounds using cut shad. The old fella told me if I want to catch even bigger fish to use live suckers 6-12 inches long under a big bobber.

Good luck.

Re: Need help!

If you're fishing in a lake, one of the best things you can do is chum. Get your hands on 4 or 5 pounds of milo, millett, or chicken scratch, put it in a 5 gallon bucket and add about 3 gallons of water. Let it soak for several days and the grain will sour. Toss out a few cups of the soured grain every 30 minutes or so and you'll draw in catfish from all around.

We use chicken liver to, but when we fish in my uncles small lake that he has a lot of time all we do is end up cathing is turtles.Sometimes we have luck with it when the turtles don't seem to be in the area.
