Off we go....

...to the turkey woods for the season opener tomorrow. Not sure who else will be doing battle tomorrow besides huntin4bucks and me but hope everybody has some memorable turkey hunts to share.

I'll leave this afternoon and probably come back from our camp to take a rest break Monday or Tuesday. Gotta go pack up for the trip and run some errands. See ya when I get back. wink.gif

Best of luck Rhino...not that you need it. grin.gif

I'm heading out bright and early tomorrow morning. I'll be out there for at least 4 days straight.

I'm pretty excited about Saturday's hunt because I'm taking my 6 year old nephew. His dad is primarily a waterfowl hunter and doesn't get into deer and turkey hunting as much. He's taken him deer hunting a few times but he's never been turkey hunting. I have a special little place set aside just for him. The best thing about it is he asked to go. He loves the outdoors and hunting so I feel like it's my duty to do everything I can to make the hunt memorable. I sure hope it goes well. grin.gif

Will be right there with ya'll...Lord willing & the creek don't rise. I'm serious about the creek...weather not looking too good for in the morning, but we will give it a shot. Everything is laid out & ready to go. Good luck to everyone who will be starting tomorrow & the weeks to come!

A bird? More like after he bags 2 or 3 or 4 birds, however many he is alloted down there. Rhino always puts alot of birds down, lol. Goodluck all who get to hunt tomorrow. I got like 10 or so days to wait.

Re: Off we go....

All packed up and the last errands will be on my way out of town. Takes about 1 3/4 hours from my house to our camp. Hopefully I'll get some pics of the dogwoods blooming on the way if it isn't raining. I also want to try to roost the bird I walked under last Friday. If he's there, he might be in trouble tomorrow. grin.gif

Good luck to you and your nephew Tracy. Hope it's a memorable experience for both of you. I'll have a youth hunter with me during the 1st weekend in April. Till then, I'm on my own. Well, unless I bag a bird tomorrow or Friday. If so, I'll do a double team for a friend of mine this weekend.

Thanks everyone and best of luck to ya'll. Be careful out there.

BTW, I packed the camcorder just in case birds start flopping on the ground too quick. I sure don't want to limit out in MS as fast as I did last year. wink.gif
