Tied my first loop

Well I tied my first loop Monday evening..yesterday I shot it and got it stretched out then last night I shortened up a little more. I also tied ony some nock points Monday evening also and got rid of the brass nock. Here's a couple photos:

I did some paper tuning yesterday, kept getting high tears. So I lowered the nock pint a little bit, still high tears, moved the rest prongs up a little bit and improved on the tears. I wanted to shoot at paper again today but it's pouring rain. Guess I'll go look for sheds instead grin.gif So let me know what you think. Also how do you determine proper nock point with like a bow square? Andy has one and always does it for me, I wanna do it myself. I know it probably isn't too much of a concern being my arrows seem to be flying straight and such, but I'd like to know if my nock point is above or below in relation to the rest? And just so I'm absolutely clear, the bottom nock point I have tied on, that marks the actual nock point on the string right?

Re: Tied my first loop

I read your other post inquiring about this and was looking for an article that I saw somewhere with a pic that looks just like yours. Obviously you figured it out and don't need it now. It looks like the knots are just tied in the opposite direction with the ends heated to seal the deal.

Looks great. Someone tied one on for me and he didn't tie the knots on opposite sides like yours. Should I tie another on and correct it or does it matter? Thanks confused.gif

IF you dont you seriously risk the nots coming untied ... when they are oposite like hers they pull against each other great reducing the risk of an untie ... very dangerous to have them tied the same directions
