Looking for bow reviews

My Mathews Switchback is headed back to the shop tonight for the second time to replace the limbs due to delamination. Both times the bottom limb has split. I am starting to think this thing may just be jinxed and I may just replace it. Today I have been searching for honest objective reviews of the new bows out this year. Can anyone point me to a site with honest bow reviews. I have been a Mathews shooter for many years but what little I have found on the web is leading me to believe the Drenalin has a lot of hand shock. And, I can't find much on the Vectrix at all. Opinions and web site suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, and I am not looking for the standard response, "go shoot them and see what fits you best." I am hoping to limit my trips to various bow shops by getting opinions here first. Thanks all.

Jay

Re: Looking for bow reviews

your obviously looking at the top end bows that are out there. Here is my take of the most popular. In no particular order.... 1. Drenalin - smoothest draw of the three. Fast. little to no hand shock. 2. Vetrix - probably the harshest draw of the three (still fairly smooth though). Good speed. Will have a little more handshock than the drenalin in my opinion. Gaurdian. Very smooth draw. Fastest of the three. VERY quite. only downside is bowtech is a relatively new company that have had limb problems in the past and the technology in the bow is new and will likely be refined a little next year. Hope that helps

Re: Looking for bow reviews

I like the Bowtech line. I wouldn't let the comment above about Bowtech run you off from them, the fact is all bow companies can have problems with limbs as you are finding out. I shoot an 06 Allegiance, and have shot the Guardian it is very very quiet and shock free. I have heard good things about the Fred Bear lineup this year, might check that out, and you might check out the Diamond lineup. Good luck with whatever you decide and I think all bows that are being made now are pretty nice.

Re: Looking for bow reviews

It all depends on what is important to you...speed, smooth draw, quietness, etc....

I have shot most of the new bows and I thought the Bowtech Guardian and Hoyt Vectrix were tops. However, I haven't shot the Ross Cardiac. The Martin Pantera was a really nice bow and a little cheaper.

Its just impossible to pick a bow for someone else. They are ALL good.
