? about selling my truck

I'm going to sell my truck to take advantage of the equity I have in it and also buy something for about half the price of what I'm currently paying per month.

I've never done it before, so I had a few questions you guys might be able to help me with.

1. I still have a note on the truck so my Credit Union holds the title. How does the whole transaction work? What I mean is, do I deposit the buyer's cashiers check first, pay off my existing loan so I can get my title and then turn it over to the buyer?

2. What type of payment do I accept from them? Obviously I'm not taking a personal check, but a cashier's check would be OK...is that the only way to go though?

3. Anyone want to buy a 2003 Nissan Frontier 4x4 King Cab? The truck has a 3.6L Supercharged V6 engine, single-CD player, alloy wheels, a toneua cover, bed liner, A/C, power windows and locks, sliding rear window, and is silver with charcoal interior.

It needs tires and the front brakes will need to be changed in about 5 to 10K. Minor, minor dings on the carpet is worn near the gas petal (the previous owner did not have floor mats).

Overall the truck is in good to excellent condition. Nice truck. Asking $14,900 obo.

Re: ? about selling my truck

take any type of payment offered, but do NOT allow the purchaser to drive off with your truck until:

1) his personal check has cleared HIS bank (your bank will take it automatically, then charge you back if his bank will not pay)

2) he has full coverage insurance in place. (not necessary if his check is certified)

3) he has a trade. his trade may have a lein attached.
