Guest INHunterman
Is it possible that someday, barring any law or other restriction, that hunting will become impossible because of our expanding population and urban growth/ habitat destruction? I'd like to hear other hunters responses and if there's anything we can do about it.
christsavedme
Re: A theoretical question. I know of about 400 acres that will never be devoloped.....well as long as I am alive and breathing anyways. IMO I really don't see this happening. There is alot of undeveloped land out there and just don't see all of it becoming housing and commercial property. Granted there has been alot used up in the last 10 years! stevebeilgard
Re: A theoretical question. we have an urban problem now in that lots of game is too populated even amoung housing areas. you may have to hunt in a back yard someday. but, there's still millions of acres of public land that will never be developed. wyoming is 51% public ground, so i feel pretty safe
arrow32
Re: A theoretical question. There is tons of public land in West Virginia so I feel confident we will always have a place to hunt. If nothing else we can hunt back yards because the animals will always be there.
Tominator
Re: A theoretical question. Hmmmmm, good question. I'd have to say possibly, depends on what the federal govt. will do with all their land holdings, and state parks and such. I think it's a well documented fact that we are losing tons of land every year to development.

wtnhunt
Re: A theoretical question. Don't think it will ever be completely gone. No doubt places to hunt will be harder to come by, but there will always be places like here where you have uninhabitable swamps that no one would ever have a desire to develop. Guest INHunterman
Re: A theoretical question. Do you think there's some way to slow the development down? I know we can't stop it completely but I expect if nothing changes that in 100 years we'll all be wondering where all the forests went. elkoholic
Re: A theoretical question. Some day it will happen. Like any animal, if there is no population control, every nook and cranny will be filled with humanity. There are no guarantees that any land, publicly owned or not, will not be inhabited. In our quest to control other animal populations we humans seem to be in no mood to control our own. It is just not popular, human rights you know. Barring a major occurrence where millions of people die, we will over populate the earth, but, none of us will be here to see it. When the sun becomes a red giant, earth will burn to a crisp and be swallowed by it all and our time here, but a blink in time, will be no more. Nice thought. Guest MrBuckshot
Re: A theoretical question. my uncle told me that only 2% of america is developt that means 98% of hunting land and national parks
